Incumbent Refuses Four Chances by the League of Women Voters to Debate Jamie

For the second time in this election, the League of Women Voters has confirmed via email that the incumbent congresswoman, Lateefah Simon, has declined to participate in a forum with Jamie. They offered two dates during the primary election, and two dates for the general - the incumbent has declined all four dates in total.

“I think she knows that if voters could compare us side by side, they would realize they would want to send someone with relevant expertise to Congress right now,” says Jamie, “Unfortunately, since I don’t have as big of a platform, many voters may not have the ability to make that determination, since Simon won’t sit down for a public forum or debate.”

“It is a disservice to voters,” says Jamie. “If I were in her position, I would absolutely agree to a forum or debate. It’s just the right thing to do.”
